Counterfeit Goods Seized

Counterfeit Goods Seized

We know you flagged that fraud is a concern for you, so this is a quick update to tell you how we’re addressing concerns and supporting residents.

On Saturday, officers from Camden Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team joined Camden Council Trading Standards in a coordinated operation targeting businesses suspected of selling counterfeit goods on Camden High Street.

During the operation, a large quantity of suspected counterfeit items was seized, with an estimated retail value of approximately £1 million. Counterfeit goods can fund organised criminality, undermine legitimate businesses, and leave consumers at risk from products that may be unsafe or fail to meet required standards.

This successful partnership activity demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackling crime, protecting consumers, and supporting legitimate businesses within Camden.

If you see goods you believe may be counterfeit being sold from shops, market stalls or other premises, please report this to Camden Trading Standards via: https://www.camden.gov.uk/trading-standards

You can also report crime and provide information to the Metropolitan Police online at: https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/

Information from the public helps identify offending businesses, protects consumers, and supports enforcement action against those involved in the supply and sale of counterfeit goods.

We consider fraud to be a serious crime and will put the time in to tackle it however we can. In the meantime, there are ways to keep yourself safe.
